Shrine of the Book

Home of the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Shrine of the Book was designed by Bartos, Kiesler & Heller and constructed in 1965 in the grounds of the Israel Museum. The distinctive double parabola dome is a fusion of ancient and modern technology whose form echoes the lids of the clay jars in which the scrolls were originally found.
